Kudos to David Windestål. This is an outstanding design and build log. My copter met it's premature demise when it ran off due to a failure of the PPM encoder. RIP tricopter.
I swapped a few parts out (generally dues to low stock at HobbyKing and owning a 3D printer).
- 3s 25C Zippy Compact 2200mAh LiPo
- 3D printed tricopter frames (extruded from DXF)
- 3D printed yaw mechanism
- Ardupilot APM 2.5 control board
- GWS Naro Super 19g / 3.6kg / .07sec Digital Servo

The goofy poster board landing gear was ultimately replaced by some over engineered truss style snap 3D printed on legs.
